By Larry Rea –
A bumble bee foraging on Echinacea… even though it is an uncommon bee, because of its shaggy appearance and yellow hairs found on its underside, I’m going to call it a Bombus caliginosis instead of the more common Bombus vosnesenskii.
The most attractive flower of the day was a patch of lavender where a couple dozen of the worker bumbles were buzzing.
