Museum Survey Says . . .

To measure American attitudes towards museums, Thinkwell Group [www.thinkwellgroup.com]—an esteemed global experience design and production agency that creates engaging museum exhibits and cultural attractions for 21st century visitors—surveyed 1,000 Americans about their museum-going habits. Key findings include:

>> 1 IN 10 AMERICANS HAVE NEVER BEEN TO A MUSEUM

58% of Americans go to a museum less than two times a year. 24% go once every 6 months, while another 24% only go once a year. 10% say they’ve never been to a museum.

>> MEN AND WOMEN HAVE DIFFERENT TASTES IN MUSEUMS

Men say their favorite type of museum is historical (30%), while women say it’s an aquarium (25%).

>> 1 IN 5 AMERICANS ARE MORE LIKELY TO VISIT MUSEUMS WITH THEIR CHILD

Other factors that make Americans more inclined to visit museums are the weather (19% are more likely to go during summer) and technology (8% would visit if the museum incorporated AR or VR elements).
