Oregon can’t claim that George Washington or Abraham Lincoln slept here but we do have the boyhood home of President Herbert Hoover.
As a tour operator, I made sure the people who traveled with me got to see as many places as possible where presidents slept. That went on for 40- plus years. But I never got them to the boyhood home of President Herbert Hoover and it is only 29.4 miles from home (both my home and the home of Jan Jackson Travel). In fact, I didn’t get there until a year ago and I’m sorry it took so long.
Think of it. Every morning the former president woke up and looked out this window and everything he saw somehow went into his presidency.
